In Loving Memory Of

Aimée Munroe

MUNROE, Aimée Marie

On Friday, March 4, 2016, Aimée Munroe, age 14, passed away doing what she loved best, skiing at Marmot Basin in Jasper.

Aimée was born on January 23, 2002 completing the family for Justin and Fiona, and brothers Curtis and Connor. Aimée lived large and never held back. She had a fierce competitive spirit and took on everything with the singular goal of being nothing but the very best. Aimée was a brilliant student with an incredible mind and wit. She had many talents and passions: she loved skiing, ski racing and recently ski coaching, she loved reading, baking, crafting, creating, drawing and Zen doodling. Aimée loved animals, art, travel, roller coasters, classic 80’s rock, and most of all she loved her family.

Aimée spent the last 3 ½ years battling brain cancer and won.  While it had left its scars on her, Aimée never wanted it to define her. Aimée was an inspiring philanthropist who from an early age was not able to turn away from need and used her talents and energy to try to help wherever she saw an opportunity.  Aimée’s goal was to go to Harvard Medical School and become a Pediatric Endocrinologist. She wanted to be able to help children in the future find a quality of life that science is not currently able to provide.

Aimée will be desperately missed by her parents: Justin and Fiona; brothers: Curtis and Connor; grandparents: Dan and Gloria Munroe, and Barrie and Shirley Curtis; uncles, aunts and cousins: Tim and Karen Curtis (James, Greg, Heather), Eric and Wendy Hollebone (Gillian, Malcolm), Jason Munroe, Linnea Pearson (Melody) and Geoffrey Munroe (Aidan). She will be missed by her close friends, classmates, family friends and NAST ski family.  Aimée touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of meeting her.

A Celebration of Aimée’s Life will be held Friday March 11, 2016, from 2:00 – 5:00pm, at Revolution Place in Grande Prairie (10017 99 Ave). Casual attire.
