Allan Parranto

 

After a short battle with lung cancer, Allan passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Points West Hospice.

Allan was born July 20, 1950, in Lac La Biche, AB. He was the second youngest in a family of 10. He had 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Allan went to school in Plamondon area. After school he played and worked around the Lac La Biche, Boyle, Blueridge and Edmonton areas during his early years. He kept busy by doing commercial fishing, truck driving, working at sawmills, plus many more different jobs over the years. 

Allan came to the Wanham area in the mid 1980’s to work at the alfalfa plant. Allan later ran an oilfield service company with his partner Joan. He moved to Eaglesham around January, 2014 and continued working in the oil patch.

Allan enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, rock picking down at the river, wiener roasts and barbecues. Allan also tried his hand at gold panning and melting aluminum to create different items.

Allan was predeceased by his father Paul, mother Elizabeth, 4 brothers: Robert, Eldy, John and Edward; sister Lydia; and Lynn, the mother of his children.

He leaves to mourn his passing sons: Tyrone and Cameron; daughter Brandi, step-son Ken, step-daughter Roxanne (Rob Myer), Joan, grandchildren: Ryder, Chance, Kaitlyn, Sydney, Tyla and Kisha; his brothers: Peter, Paul and Dwain; sister Helen, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and old time friends.

Rest in Peace Allan.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Allan at on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 1:00pm, at COCO Hall in Wanham.
