In Loving Memory Of

Fred Savard

Fred Daniel Savard, resident of Horse Lake, formerly of Hythe, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Beaverlodge, at the age of 73 years.

Fred was born in Grande Prairie on May 18, 1942. He was raised in Wembley. He worked at GC Coal mine, P&G, was a CAT operator most of his life, worked as a truck driver, and in garbage disposal until he could no longer work.

Everywhere he went, there was someone that he knew and he always had a story for everything.

Fred’s first love was always his family. He sacrificed his whole life to provide for his wife and children. He raised a lot of grandchildren with his beloved wife Stella. He was away a lot for camp jobs in order to provide for his family. He always helped others, no matter who they were.

His hobbies came second to caring for his family. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, flying model airplanes and mechanics.

The love Fred has for his wife Stella was evident. They went to every function there was, and danced the night away and dressed up together for Halloween.

Fred will be sadly missed by his children: Dale (Dorothy), Pam (Paul), Elaine (Walter), Percy (Joleen) and Theresa (Gerald); his brothers: Jim (Eileen), Norm (Bev), and Stanley; sister Ethel (Harvey); adopted children: Elena (Jeremy) and Judy; all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren – too many to name; as well as all of his friends far and near.

Fred was predeceased by his beautiful wife Stella, his son Dion, parents Theodore and Jean Savard; brothers: Bruce, Joe, and John; grandchildren: Shane, Vanessa, Daniel, Dylan and Shea.

Prayers will be held on Wednesday, May 11. 2016, at 7:00pm, at the Rec Centre in Horse Lake, AB.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 10:00am, at the Rec Centre in Horse Lake, AB.

Memorial donations may be made to KidSport (P.O. Box 851, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 3R5).

We watched you suffer, we watched you sigh,

But all we could do was just stand by.

When the time came we suffered too,

For you never deserved what you went through.

God took your hand, and we had to part.

He eased your pain but broke our hearts.

If you could have spoken before you died

These are the words you would have replied:

"This life for me has truly passed,

I have loved you all till the very last.

Weep not for me, but courage take

And love one another for my sake."

Fred Savard
