In Loving Memory Of

Herman Paschetag

Herman John Paschetag passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the age of 71 years.

Herman was born February 28, 1945 in Grande Prairie, AB. He attended school at Morningview, Sexsmith, Clairmont, Grande Prairie, and the Fairview Agricultural College with honours (2 years). He farmed 4 quarters on Kleskun Lake until 1979, then 6 quarters SE of Wembley (grain, oil seed, and beef) until retiring 2 years ago.

Herman is survived by his sister Dorothy A. (Bob) Ireland of Parksville, BC, brother Patrick (Patricia) Conrad of Sardis, BC, one nephew and four nieces with two spouses and six little children who live in Calgary, AB, Idaho, Oregon and Texas.

He was predeceased by his mother Victoria (Paschetag) Conrad, father Fred Paschetag and step-father Harlie H. Conrad.

Herman will be remembered for his kind and generous demeanor, intense work ethic, and as a master farmer. He was very proud of the bumper crops he grew. He was greatly loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed.

The family wished to thank the intensive care teams at QEII and U of A Hospitals for their valiant efforts. We are also very grateful for Ken Lawrence, Herman’s best friend and Andy Hofer of the Bear Lake Hutterite Colony for their assistance at this difficult time.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 10:30am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Interment to follow at Grande Prairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the SPCA would be greatly appreciated (12220 104 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8A8).
