He continued working in the building supply business in Grande Prairie and Peace River for most of his working life.

Sam met Jean Lobb and her two small children in 1956 and Jean and Sam were married in June of 1958. Sam and Jean raised their family in Grande Prairie. Sam was particularly interested in his children’s musical endeavors, joining the MAPA band to learn to play trombone and joining the Grande Prairie Marching Band with Kate, Sam E., and Jean.

Sam was an active member of the Kinsmen, and then K-40s, the Lake Saskatoon Masonic Lodge, and was active on the board of the Grande Prairie Museum.

A special thank you to the Staff at Emerald Gardens and Points West Hospice for all the care and compassion shown to Sam.
