Gordon David Erickson

 

Gordon David Erickson, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Hines Creek AB, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 66 years.

Gord was adopted at the age of one and started his life at the family farm in Hines Creek, AB. Gord loved his time on the farm and would wander around with his horse, Chicka, for hours. He participated in PARDS for many years, spent every Friday supper at Zellers until they closed, loved the horse races, enjoyed the Eastlink Centre, Joy Chapel, and having coffee with friends. Over the years, Gord had many opportunities to travel to many places such as Hawaii, Vegas, Victoria, Mexico, and many other tropical places.

He attended Peace School of Hope and lived in the Barrydale Dorm. He then attended a variety of Vocational settings including Diversional Ceramics and Swan Industries for 37 years.

Gord will be sadly missed by his twin brother Glenn Erikson; sisters: Marilyn (Herman) Peters, Maxine Madden, Jeannie Dumont, Gail Riggs, Marylinn Frazer, Darlene Nelson, and Donna Araujo; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews; as well as many friends and family from Signature Support Services.

He was predeceased by his parents Sven and Ella Erikson, his biological mother, and his longtime friend Cheryl McLean.

A Celebration of Gord’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Reverend George Malcolm Officiating. Fellowship and interment to follow.
