In Loving Memory Of

James "Jim" Patrick Hoffos

August 16, 1943 - August 27, 2011

Jim Hoffos, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the age of 68 years. Jim was born in Mossbank, Saskatchewan on August 16, 1943 where he resided until moving to Edmonton where he met his wife Laura. They had two children, Brooks and Blaire Hoffos. They moved to Grande Prairie in 1975 where he became involved in the Grande Prairie Curling Association and was a well known businessman within the community. Jim was a gifted athlete who participated in various sports such as hockey, baseball, curling, and golf, and most of all he had the gift of conversation. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Laura Hoffos; son Brooks Hoffos (Shauna); daughter Blaire Hoffos Peterson (Travis); grandchildren Dalton and Ashtin Peterson; sister Janet Kesslar (Jim); brother Mel Hoffos (Joan) and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his mother Florence Hoffos and father Lorne Hoffos. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Oliver’s Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 3, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB. Two roads diverged in a wood and I

I was very sad to hear of Jim's passing. He was one of my best friends growing up in Mossbank. We played sports together and everyone strived to be as good as Jim was. We also played music together in our band "The Telstars" I send my sympathies to Jim's family.

My sympathies to the Hoffos Family. Jim was a very strong force in everyones life, but more important he had the strong force of Jesus in him. You are at peace Jim, in the arms of your the Savior, may we all see you soon. Hope you are still telling those crazy jokes of yours :). April

Aunt Laura, Blaire, Brooks and all of yours, Our deepest sympathies and condolences for your loss. I will cherish the memories of our times together and all of the laughter which many a time was due to Uncle Jim's excellent sense of humor. I will even cherish the time Uncle Jim swore at me for beating him fairly at crib. I suppose his sense of humor didn't extend that far. Always loved, never forgotten. Kathy and Jym
