Jacob "Jake" Krause


August 22, 1930 - September 15, 2011

 

Jacob “Jake” Krause, resident of Grande Prairie since 1976, formerly of the Saskatoon area, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Jacob (Jake) Krause was born August 22, 1930 to Jacob and Helena (Kroeker) Krause at Langham, Saskatchewan. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior in his late teens. He was baptized on April 18, 1950. He loved to sing and praise his Lord. In 1952, he married Lorraine Wall. This marriage was blessed with ten children. His family was his pride and joy. He had his own hockey team and played softball on the same team with his boys. He was a farmer at heart. An ice maker in winter and a Ball Park manager in summer. He worked at the Robin Hood flour mills for 3 years. He helped build many churches. He helped build the Hepburn Bethany Bible School Tabernacle. He was never without a job. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Helena Krause; brother Henry; and sister in-law Shirley. His parents in-law Henry and Sarah Wall; sister in-law Katie Wall and niece Dorothy; brother in-law Conrad and brother in-law Oscar. He is survived by his wife Lorraine and their ten children: Gerald (Carey), Mervin (Ellen), Eugene (Karin), Robert (Judy), Annabelle (Jim), Gloria (David), Harvey (Deanne Farias), Patricia (Garth), Marilyn (Jarrod), Timothy (Ginger); 45 grandchildren, step-grandchildren and their spouses; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters and spouses, many nieces and nephews; and many friends and relatives. Funeral service will be held at the Grande Prairie Alliance Church (15502 102 Street)on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service at the Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Alliance Church or the Q.E.II Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care.
