In Loving Memory Of

Clara Irene Wilkinson

November 6, 1924 - December 27, 2011

Our loving mother Clara Irene Wilkinson (Chase) of Grande Prairie, Alberta passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 27, 2011, at the age of 87. Mom was born in Hyas, Saskatchewan on November 6, 1924. She was delivered by her Grandma Sawyer, who was the midwife for the district, delivering over 200 babies. Mom & Dad were married on June 1, 1948 and enjoyed 49 1/2 years together before Dad's passing in December 1997. They farmed in Saskatchewan from 1948 - 1992 when they sold the farm and moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta to be closer to their children. Mom's love of gardening showed in her bountiful fruit and vegetable harvests (which were canned for the winter), in her never ending lawn and in her beautiful rock gardens. She was very involved in her church and community fostering 20+ children and opening her door to many missionaries. Mom never had much but what she had she graciously shared with others, even if it meant going without herself. Many homes across the country are decorated with a rock that she painted or a quilt she sewed or a mat she sewed or all three. She was even a carpenter. She built cupboards, bookshelves and a log cabin. She was happiest when busy or when her house was full of family and friends. Her pride and joy was her FAMILY. She was blessed with 7 children

We were saddened to hear of Clara's passing. We wanted to pass our condolences on to all the family. We do have some memories of Clara and I think of her whenever I see them. May God Bless you all at this difficult time. Sincerely Pat and Fletch
