In Loving Memory Of

Stanley Wesley Hennigar

May 15, 1931 - December 24, 2011

Wes Hennigar, born on May 15, 1931, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie at the age of 80 years. Wes was a longtime resident of the Bad Heart community, later moving to the town of Sexsmith and finally to his son’s farm east of Clairmont. There he and Alma enjoyed bird watching and visits from their friends and family. They were famous for their hospitality. Wes was an avid gardener and an accomplished horseman enjoying many hours in his later years outdoors helping his son Norman around the farm, working in his legendary (for those who have heard his stories) garden and driving the team. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be forever loved, forever in our hearts and forever missed. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter-in-law Linda Hennigar, his daughter Kathy (Talbert) Berg, daughter Jean (Marvin) Stewart, son Norman (Bridget) Hennigar, his daughter Betty (Bob) Sandford, his brother Fred (Mary) Hennigar, his sister Alice Braunberger as well as his family from Alma’s side and numerous friends and relatives. His legacy also includes his grandchildren and great-grandchildren of whom he was so very proud. They are Chris (Jodie) Hennigar and their children Kennedi and Konnor, Connie (Jason) Strand and their children Kyle, Jessie and Collin, Darcy Stewart and David Stewart, Gerald Berg and Michelle Berg, Shelley (Reilly) Lillico and their children Luke and Wyatt, Shaun (Angie) Sandford, Ross, Corey and Cali Hennigar. Wes was predeceased by his mother Gladys, his father Chris, his brothers Art and Lawrence, his sisters Eva Sparks and Audrey Hennigar, his son Wayne Hennigar and his beloved wife Alma. A celebration of Wes’ life will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00am at Oliver’s Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Wes’ honour to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Kevin and I just wanted to say how sorry we were to hear about your dads passing Bridget. Thinking of you and wishing all the best in 2012.
