Dorothy Sim of Grande Prairie, passed away at the QEII Hospital on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Born at Wimbourne, Alberta, she grew up at Clive, Alberta, with her parents and 6 sisters. She married Cliff in 1948 and they had three children. Dorothy loved reading, sewing, watching good movies and making quilts, most of which went to Odyssey House Women’s Shelter. She will be sadly by her daughters Laurie Sim and her husband Chris Lommerse of Wetaskiwin; Cathy (Mel) Gunson of Crooked Creek; son Murray Sim of North Pender Island; grandson Devin Proulx of Edmonton; sister Ethel Nelson of Vulcan and her family; sisters in-law Carol Sim of Innisfail and Joan Sim of Calgary; brothers in-law Lyle Wickenberg and Norm Seeger both of Edmonton; Norm and Pat Sim of Lacombe; and many, many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. She was predeceased by her parents, 5 sisters, her beloved husband Cliff and many of her in-laws. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 12:30pm at Tees Cemetery in Tees, Alberta. Tea and social to follow and location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the STARS Air Ambulance.
