Marion Clarice Marcy

December 27, 1926 - June 13, 2012


Marion C. Marcy, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away peacefully at the Grande Prairie QEII Hospital on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Marion was born in Sexsmith, AB, to the parents of Alfred and Ann Ward, Marion was a lifetime member of the Royal Purple. She loved to travel, and was talented and creative in many areas, especially painting. She loved her yearly trips to Fairmont and spending time camping with the family at Sturgeon Lake. She married Miles Marcy and had five children: Ken, Marilynne Turner, Greg (Laurie), Kevin, Colleen Minty (Alan). She will be missed by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, as well as her two brothers Walter (Hazel) Ward and David. She was predeceased by her two husbands, Miles Marcy and John Yurychuk, her brother Lewis, and her son Ken. A celebration of her life will be held at the Grande Prairie Elks Hall on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 1:00pm until 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the QEII Hospital Foundation

Marion will always be remembered as a true friend. Living close the last few years was fun, keeping track of her via my balconey, was a good laugh from time to time. The card games were priceless. Love always from John and Charlene Costucci
