Melvin Frank Hagen, resident of Woking, Alberta, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the age of 47 years. Melvin was raised in Grovedale, Alberta. Melvin’s loves were guiding, sports and working with animals. He also loved helping children at fishing derbies and rodeos. He will be sadly missed by Margaret Hagen, his daughters: Tara Arseneault (Jon), Jodi Hagen; son Russel Hagen, and grandson Theo Arseneault. Also by parents Floyd and Laura Hagen; siblings: Marilyn (Jim), Ken (Carla), Calvin (Deanna), Karen (Gil), and his many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 3:30pm at People’s Church in Grande Prairie, followed by a luncheon. Family and close friends are welcome to come to a private graveside service at 1:00pm at the Grovedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peace Country Wilderness Camps (RR 1 Grande Prairie, AB T8V 2Z8).

I just heard today, Melvin was a good friend and although it has been 30 years, it is a feeling of loss. My condolences to his family, I wish I had known sooner, I would like to have attended and said goodbye. Dan.

I feel shock and sadness hearing about Mel's death. I haven't seen him for years, but we went to camp together at David Thompson, every summer, and I felt like we grew up together. I pray that you, as a family, feel God's healing peace in your lives, and that Mel is now at peace also. Lynette Olsen Nooy

I guess we never really know the signifigance of the trail, until the paths end, as the journey towards the destination, is often where the lessons lie. Thanks for try'n. I got a box of corn flakes with yer name on it. ;-)

My friends and I have been on several horseback rides with Mel and had such wonderful times and laughs together. Our sympathy to his family.
