Myrtle Moodie, longtime resident of Hythe, Alberta, passed away at the Grande Prairie Care Centre on July 16, 2012 at the age of 95 years. Myrtle was born on September 30, 1916 in Grande Prairie. She was raised and married to Allan Moodie in 1940 while living in the Scenic Heights area. Myrtle, Allan and family moved to the Hythe area to farm where she raised her family and embraced many friends. Her interests were “Coffee Time” with dear friends, playing bonko and gardening. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Faye and son in-law Harold Kjemhus, daughter Eleanor, son Jim, grandson Jeff (Gabrielle), granddaughter Michelann (Mike), granddaughter in-law Sherri, along with her great grandchildren Tate and Drey Russell, Elena Kjemhus, Avery and Riley Kjemhus, Brook, Piper and Madison. She was predeceased by her husband Allan Moodie, her parents Charlie and Ellen Anderson, and grandson Dean Kjemhus. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Oliver’s Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the MS Society, or Canadian Diabetes Association.
