In Loving Memory Of

Linda Ruth Death

April 1, 1947 - September 8, 2012

With great sadness we announce the passing of Linda Ruth Death (nee Wilson), longtime resident of Goodfare, Alberta. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the age of 65 years. She was surrounded by her family at the Beaverlodge Hospital at the time of her passing. Linda was born April 1, 1947 in Milton, Ontario. She spent her youth helping her dad on the farm and attending school in Milton and Hornby. She also immensely enjoyed playing back catcher for the Hornby Women’s Baseball team for many years. She then married her husband Arthur Death on June 14, 1969 and the family moved to Guelph where Linda attended Business College. She then went on to work at Co-operator’s Insurance for a couple years until July of 1971 when their daughter Darlene was born. In 1972 the family moved from Guelph to Goodfare, Alberta to raise their family and begin a cattle ranch. In 1973 their son Dan was born in Beaverlodge. Linda and Arthur farmed together side by side until Arthur passed away on March 4, 1994. Linda continued farming on her own for the last 18 years with the help of numerous friends and neighbors and just recently sold the last of her cattle in the spring. She remained on the farm until the past month when she went to live briefly with her daughter Darlene and son in-law Bill Commet. There she spent her last days. Linda was a strong woman full of courage, determination and spunk. Most of all Linda loved the life and family that God gave her. Linda will be truly missed by: Daughter Darlene (Bill) Commet, sons: Dan (Sheila) Death, Lawrence (Helen) Deeth, Jim (Irene) Death, and Ken (Mickey) Death; grandchildren: Paige & Brittney Commet; Tyra & Ashley Death; Edward (Danielle) Deeth, Ron (Melissa) Deeth, Murray Deeth and Gary (Jen) Deeth; Tonya (Jason) Warren, Pam (Jeff) Gibbs, and Monica Deeth; David (Roselyn) Death, John Death and Carrie (Kelly) Fillion; sisters: Pat (Noah) Feltham, Joyce (Ross) Gowan, and mother Mary Wilson, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Linda was predeceased by her husband and best friend Arthur Death, her father Roy J. Wilson, her brother in-law Alan Norman, and sister in-law Muriel Norman. Celebration of her life will be held at the Beaverlodge Alliance Church at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012. Pastor Greg Clark Officiating. Interment will follow at the Gimli Cemetery and a luncheon will be held at the Goodfare Community Hall around 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Our Sincere Sympathy to all in the loss of Linda. She was a great person and will be missed. Don remembers all the good times they had on the family farm. Even though we have not seen her for many years she was thought of often. Take care and God Bless. Don and Norma Wilson.

Our sincere condolences to all of Linda's family in the loss of a wonderful person. Linda and my sister, Rita, went to business college together and it was through her that I met Linda. All these years of knowing Linda, I never knew her middle name was Ruth. That is my mother's name. Linda and Arthur's warm hospitality and friendship made the effort of getting to Goodfare well worth the trip. I just wish we could have done it more often. We will miss her very much but are so happy to know that she suffers no more and is safe in the arms of our Lord Jesus.

To Darlene and Dan, Laurie, Jim and Ken, and their much loved families. Linda has been our friend since College, and we will really miss her visits to Ontario. She was the special kind of friend that, even though you hadn't seen her for a year or more, we picked up just where we left off last time. Linda and Arthur were with me the night Murray and I met, and that also made our bond stronger. Please visit if you are in Ontario. We have honoured Linda's practical request in support of Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital.
