Alf Elof Farnquist


July 22, 1930 - September 13, 2012

 

Alf Farnquist, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, at the age of 82 years. Alf was born on July 22, 1930 in Galahad, Alberta. He moved to Beaverlodge in 1952 with his parents and took up farming. He worked for Foster’s Seed and Feed for 34 years. In 1971, Alf moved to Grande Prairie to manage the seed plant for Foster’s Seed and Feed. His hobbies were restoring old cars and refinishing antique furniture. In 2010, he suffered a stroke and was a resident at the Gardens before moving to Points West when it first opened. He will be sadly missed by his brother Ed (Ann) Farnquist of Valleyview, his sister Elsie (Allan) Lock of Beaverlodge, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Christina Farnquist, his infant brother Lars Eldon Farnquist, brother Elmer Farnquist, sister-in-law Mary Farnquist, great-niece Sheena Farnquist, and nephew Wayne Farnquist. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 17 from 7:00
