In Loving Memory Of

Lawrence Joseph Shannahan

June 28, 1960 - September 12, 2012

Lawrence passed away at home on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed history and hockey. He will be sadly missed by his wife Darlene, daughter Lisa and son Justin, his father John Shannahan and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his mother Josephine Shannahan and brother Howard Shannahan. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 2:00pm at St. Joseph’s Church, 10404 102 Street, Grande Prairie. A reception will follow at the church hall. Interment will take place in Newfoundland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Darlene, Lisa & Justin: We were so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. He was a great guy and fun to be around. It was a shock to everyone when we heard the news. We are sorry we can't make it to Alberta for the funeral service but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will attend the service when you come to Newfoundland. Take care and we'll see you soon.

"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget." Our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow. We love you.
