Norma Irene Connell

Norma Irene Connell longtime resident of Beaverlodge passed away in Stettler on September 17, 2012 at the age of 94 years. Norma was born April 10, 1918 at Halcourt. She was raised in the Hinton Trail district and attended school there. She married Bill in November 1937. They moved to Beaverlodge in 1950 where she resided until 2010 when she moved to Ponoka to be closer to family. She had worked at the local theatre for a number of years and later in the hospital kitchen. She will be sadly missed by daughter Evelyn (Norm) of Lacombe, sons: Harold (Barbara) of Red Deer, and Don (Lynne) of Whitecourt, sister-in-law Jean Spence of Stony Plain, six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill (1981), son Bob (2009), parents Edna and Spurgeon Spence, sister Marion, and brothers Harold and Frank. A graveside service will be held at Halcourt Cemetery on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. followed by a memorial lunch for friends and family at 2:30 p.m. in the Beaverlodge United Church basement. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
