Obituary For A. Ken Smith
Ken passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the age of 84 years.
He hailed from Minnedosa, MB, where he was born on May 5, 1933, and he still had many friends and family.
He is survived by his children: Jan, June (Tim) and Trish; proud grandpa of Jennifer, Jarret (Alexia), Jim (October) and Kim (Matt); and great-grandpa to J and Jasmin. He is also survived by his wife of 25 years, Daryl and her daughters: Shannon, Lauren, and their families. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Ken was predeceased by his first wife Irene; sister Eleanor, and son in-law Dave.
Ken and his wife Daryl enjoyed many wonderful vacations until illness limited travel. They always enjoyed the great outdoors. Some of Ken’s fondest memories were of fishing trips with Ray and golfing with Marcel, Jerry and Lou.
We want to express our thanks to the wonderful staff at the hospices as well as a special thanks to Dr. Duta, Dr. Barreth, Karmen and the fantastic staff at WCB (Debbie).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home, in Grande Prairie, AB (10005 107 Ave).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
