Obituary For Adolph Schultz

Adolph Schultz, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital, at the age of 93 years.

He was born May 5, 1930, in the lower Beaverlodge area, south of Huallen, AB. He was the third oldest child of eight born to Emil and Wilhelmine Schultz, and was raised on the family farm.

After completing his schooling, he remained in the community to help his parents out financially on the farm by working out in logging camps.

In 1954, he purchased his first quarter of land. In 1956, after marrying Margaret Hennig, his quarter became their family farm where they raised six children and continued to live his love of farming. They remained on the farm until his retirement. In 2015, they moved to Amisk Court in Beaverlodge which became their new home.

Sunday was Adolph’s day of rest, a family day. He cherished afternoon drives, berry picking, fishing, and family time. Throughout his life he remained active in his church and community. He lived through his faith. After becoming a grandpa, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren became his focus. He loved the little ones, the noisier the better. Over the years he grew to love traveling and when he could no longer travel, he re-lived these experiences through storytelling. During his retirement, he continued to enjoy socializing, a family visit or get together, a good crib game, and all the musical entertainment.

Adolph will be lovingly remembered by his 5 children: Maxine (Ralph) Hauger, Mark (Penney) Schultz, Jean (Roy) Hodges, Cheryl (Jeff) Dosen, and Tim Schultz; 10 grandchildren: Jeremy (Megan), Jordan (Mike), Cody (Dana), Scott (Jessie), Karli (Jamie), Sarah (Olin), Caitlin, Chelsea, Taylor, and Jada; 14 great-grandchildren: Hudson, Davis, Isla, Blakely, Wyatt, Halle, Liam, Reed, Keatyn, Torin, Lennyn, Nash, Koen, and Elliotte; 2 sisters: Herta (Herman) Briese and Olga Breitkreutz; sisters in-law Val (Frieda) Hennig and Doreen Schultz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret; eldest son Greg; his parents Emil and Wilhelmine; sister Bertha; brothers: William, Reinold, Gottlieb, and Edward; as well as his in-laws.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, at Oliver's Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:00am, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wembley. Interment and luncheon to follow.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Laymen's League (270 Lawrence Ave., Kitchener, ON, N2M 1Y4).
