Obituary For Adrian Joseph Trepanier

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Adrian Joseph Trepanier on Monday, September 30, 2024, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 84 years.

Adrian was born in Edmonton, AB on July 2, 1940. He was the fifth of six brothers born to parents Cecile and Anthony Trepanier. He grew up in Edmonton and went into the RCMP after graduation. He was posted in Hazelton, BC. He left the RCMP to marry Audrey Condon and moved to Clarkson Valley where he was a Fish and Wildlife Officer. He moved with his family to Grande Prairie and worked at Proctor and Gamble (P&G) then Weyerhaeuser until his retirement.

Adrian loved his family, fishing, and God. He considered raising his children and being a caregiver to his wife, Audrey as his most significant accomplishments. He made many happy memories fishing and camping at Williston Lake. After he retired, he enjoyed fishing for Halibut in Alaska (Coffman Cove). He was a devout Catholic and believed in helping others. He sang in the church choir for years, was a Big Brother, sponsored several children through World Vision, and helped children with reading at local schools.

He will be sorely missed by his son and best friend Christopher (Cindy); daughter Nicole; grandchildren: Chelsea, Cody and Colton; his remaining brother Jacques (Lorraine); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Adrian was predeceased by his parents Cecile and Anthony; step-father Frank Kyncyl; four of his brothers: Ronald (Tess), Robert (Patricia), Gerald (Margaret), and Norman (Doris) Trepanier; as well as his wife Audrey in 2003.

The family would like to thank all of Adrian’s Doctors, Nurses, and Health Care Aides both at Home Care and at the Hospice for their kindness and compassion.

There will be a memorial service for Adrian in the spring of 2025.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society (204, 10134-97 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7X6) or the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/).

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

~Afterglow by Helen Lowrie Marshall

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day,

And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray;

When in the Lord's safe landing net I’m peacefully asleep,

That in His mercy I be judged as good enough to keep.

~ Fisherman’s prayer
