Obituary For Agnes Wagner Ross
Agnes Ross passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, after a long struggle with dementia, at the age of 88 years.
Agnes was born February 2, 1930 in Markinch, SK to Karl and Pauline Wagner. She was the 7th of 14 children in a large, farming family.
Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Lawrence Ross. They married August 15, 1953 in Coquitlam, BC. Together they raised 5 children in the Chilliwack/Hope area.
They moved to Wembley, AB in 1980, and Mom was known as “Angus” to all the neighbour children who would come to the door for treats.
She handled the home by herself on and off for 21 years while Lawrence was in the military. She “kept the home fires burning”.
In 2013, they moved to Wild Rose Manor until being placed in Grande Prairie Care Centre in August 2018.
Agnes loved to go to auctions and was an avid collector of antique oil lamps, elephants, and anything interesting. She was a wonderful quilter and gave her creations to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake for her family and we will all miss her endless supply of apple pies.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence; son David (Ines) and grandchildren: Randy and Philip (Adina) and their mother Nancy; daughter Marjorie (Lawrence) and grandchildren: Shawn, Kevin (Krystal), and Melissa (Michael); daughter Rosanna and grandchildren: Renee, Kim (James), Sacha, and Kylie (Brad); daughter Roxanne (Henry) and grandson Martin (Starla); and youngest son Robert; great-grandchildren: Juliana, Jonathan, Jessica, Aidan, Alex, Calvin, Marshall, Connor, Aubrey, Elizabeth, Xander, Maya, Carter, Kaylee, and Jasper; siblings: Philip, Emma, Elsie, Doreen, David, Larry, and Alma and their large extended families.
She was predeceased by her parents Karl and Pauline; siblings: William, Ida, John, Jake, Henry, and Eva.
A Memorial Service will be held in Spring 2019.
