Obituary For Alan John Amirault
Alan John Amirault, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Valleyview, AB, surrounded by his children at the age of 65 years.
Alan was born in Digby, NS, on May 11, 1956, to Richard and Kathleen Amirault. He was raised in Weaver Settlement, NS, as an only child, although he was very close to his cousins. He attended Weymouth Consolidated School where he graduated in 1974. He became involved in construction and worked on various jobs throughout Canada. He enjoyed working with his hands, and the lifelong friends he made throughout his career.
Alan was well-known in the community of Weymouth. Many people fondly knew him as Little Rich. He loved motorcycles, old cars and trucks. He enjoyed going to bike rallies, like the Wharf Rat Rally, and car shows. He cherished the memories he had with close friends.
Alan was married to Natalie in 1987, and they had three children. He loved the home that they raised their family in on Journeays Lake. Alan proudly said that his greatest accomplishments were raising his three beautiful children.
Alan will be greatly missed by his three children: Jed (Sherry) Amirault, Jocelynn (Brian) Feeney, and Jacob Amirault; his two grandchildren Kate and Owen Amirault; as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Kathleen Amirault.
A Viewing will be held for family and friends on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at from 2:00-4:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave). We kindly ask that current health recommendations are followed.

During high school days I had the odd occasion in class to walk passed Alan while he was sitting at his desk. During those times, and when things were a bit slow in class, he would be free-hand pencil sketching some cool car from the '50s. At that point in time while my drawings of similar vehicles were at (and still are) the Flintstone mobile stage, Alan's drawings were perfect both from perspective and for shading. A very talented fellow he was.

My sincere sympathy to you all at this time. During the times he lived "home", he was always a friendly face to see. Many of Arnolds friends I lost touch with over the years, but Little Rich is someone I'll always remember.
