Obituary For Albert Stanley Pillsworth

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Stanley Pillsworth, resident of the Wembley, AB area, on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Albert was born on January 23, 1945, to Fred and Irene Pillsworth, in Pouce Coupe, BC. He was the fifth of seven children.

There wasn’t much that Albert couldn’t do, and whatever he took on, he did it very well. Included in these accomplishments were mechanics, farming, truck driving, managing trucking companies, saving lives and helping neighbours. He was also “the best” storyteller! Albert loved to visit with anyone that crossed his path.

The jobs Albert excelled at were that of husband, father, and grandfather. He was the best provider, teacher, cheerleader, and friend. We always knew we were his #1 and he certainly was ours too.

He will be forever remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; daughter Jody (Calvin); son Jason (Terri); grandchildren: Kristoffer Weatherby, Aaron Pillsworth, Michael Maniago, Jordan Hennig, Becca Hennig, Riley Pillsworth, Jessie Hennig, Hayden Pillsworth and Kaylen Pillsworth.

A Memorial service in Albert’s honor will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, AB (10005 - 107 Ave).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Albert’s memory to Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (https://www.stollerykids.com/donate/) or to PARDS (https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/11282).
