Obituary For Albert Vernon Wells

Albert Wells, longtime resident of Wanham, AB, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, in Spirit River, AB, at the age of 79 years.

Albert was born in Wanham, AB, on August, 29, 1938, to Delbert and Thelma Wells. At the age of 6, Albert was blessed to have another mother come into his life, Francis Wells.

At the age of 19, Albert joined the army and was there for 3 years. On April 9, 1965, Albert married Shirley Johnson. They were blessed with 3 sons. After working a number of jobs, Albert returned home to Wanham to become the local UFA Agent for 32 years. Albert then retired and became a permanent fixture at Cozy Cove at Sturgeon Lake where he had a lake lot for 30 plus years.

Albert is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Shirley; mother Francis; children: Rick (Debbie) Wells, Wayne (Lory) Wells, and Darren (Robyn) Wells; brother Dale Wells; sister Betty Wells; as well as 6 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his father Delbert Wells, mother Thelma Defoe, step-father Leo Defoe; and grandson Brady Wells.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, at 2:00pm, at the COCO Hall in Wanham.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Central Peace Palliative Committee (Box 339, Spirit River, AB, T0H 3G0).

Shirley and family, so very sorry to hear of Alberts passing he always had a friendly smile and kind words to me whenever I met him,, also enjoyed playing hockey with and against him on a few occasions. He was always reliable whenever we needed fuel and could always count on a short visit from a busy man.
