Obituary For Alberta Millan

Alberta “Bertha” Millan, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 in Grande Prairie at the age of 89 years.

Alberta was born in High Prairie, AB and her family moved to Goodfare, AB, where they farmed up until 1979, when they returned once more to Grande Prairie. She had a great appreciation for the outdoors, camping, picking berries, gardening and cleaning. She loved seeing happiness in others, and always wanted to help. Bertha lived a modest and humble life; however, she lived large with family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Dwayne, of Innisfail, AB, Sharon of Grande Prairie, AB, and Patrick of Valleyview, AB; and granddaughter: Sydney. She is also survived by siblings: Christine and Lawerance; daughter-in-law: Tammy; Tammy’s parents: Bertha and Grant Sunstrum of Innisfail, AB; as well as the rest of the Sunstrum family.

Bertha was predeceased by numerous family and friends.

A Funeral for Alberta will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave) in Grande Prairie, AB.

Memorial donations in Bertha’s honor can be made to a charity of one’s choosing.

Berta, I have been trying to get you for a number of weeks and getting not in service recording but never suspected you had gone to heaven without me telling you goodbye. We kept in touch by phone, me in Victoria and you in GP. That's where we met, living in the same apt. building. Sharon and your family will miss you and so will I! There won't be our laughs or cards just memories. I miss you already! Rest in peace dear friend. Sandy Outerbridge

I met Alberta while driving her to different places in Grande Prairie. I drove the accessible transit. Alberta had stories to share about her family, growing up and the jokes she told were hilarious. I will miss her beautiful stories and smiles. She always had a smile. Rest in peace, Alberta. Denise
