Alice Henry passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, at the age of 92 years, with her loving family by her side.

Alice was the eldest child of a family of five born to Jim and Janet Ayling. She grew up on the farm at Watino, where she attended school, until she moved to Clairmont for high school.

She met and married Bill Henry and they began their life together farming north of Eaglesham on the Lassiter Project. There they raised their children: Beth, Jim, and Darrel.

Bill and Alice moved to Fairview in 1968. Alice worked at the Auction Mart, The Bay, and Radbourne and Roberts Insurance. They loved camping and toured all over BC, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Their favourite spot was the Eaglesham Golf Course.

She loved her family deeply and they were the center of her universe. She is survived by her devoted family: son in-law Allan (Jeannette) Shipton and Allan and Beth’s children Jeffery (Felicia and their children Avery, Sophia, Willow, and Zoe Shipton), Pam (Colin) Terrick, Jamie and Erin Arnason, Tim (Jodie and sons Maddax and Theo) Shipton, and Jeannette’s son Jason (Cindy and their children Thomas, Kristen, and Anna) Cusack; son Jim (Gwen) and their children Aubrie, Alyssa, Logan (Jasmine and new baby Sylvia), Jenna (Keith and new baby Milo); son Darrel (Renee) and their children Reid (Mel and children Jack and Anna), Bailee (Alex and baby Jude), Brent (Amanda), Colby, Carter, and Shana; brother in-law Stan (Jessie) Sather; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alice was predeceased by her parents Janet and Jim Ayling, sisters Marion Boreen, Florence Sather, and Doris Gladden, brother Alan, husband Bill Henry, daughter Beth Shipton, great-granddaughter Stella Beth, niece Shirley Skrepnek, Shirley’s husband Johnny and their daughter Carol, great great-nephews Quinton and Dustin, great-nephew Andre Sather, and sister in-law Katie Ayling.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2018, at 1:00pm, at Eaglesham Community Church (4905 51 St.). Interment will be held following the service at Pleasant Heights Cemetery in Eaglesham.
