After a short battle with lung cancer, Allan passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Points West Hospice.

Allan enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, rock picking down at the river, wiener roasts and barbecues. Allan also tried his hand at gold panning and melting aluminum to create different items.
Allan was predeceased by his father Paul, mother Elizabeth, 4 brothers: Robert, Eldy, John and Edward; sister Lydia; and Lynn, the mother of his children.
He leaves to mourn his passing sons: Tyrone and Cameron; daughter Brandi, step-son Ken, step-daughter Roxanne (Rob Myer), Joan, grandchildren: Ryder, Chance, Kaitlyn, Sydney, Tyla and Kisha; his brothers: Peter, Paul and Dwain; sister Helen, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and old time friends.

I am so sorry to hear about Al. Thank you for posting this obituary. I had to chuckle to myself when you mentioned gold panning. It reminds me of the time Al, Edward and Dwain were gold panning in the foot hills. Eldy and I stopped in to see them. They were panning on a sandbar in the river and discussing how they would survive if there was a sudden rise of the river and they were stuck on the sandbar. Al told them not to worry because he never brushed his teeth that morning so they could boil his false teeth and make a soup! That's the Al I remember and love.

Cameron and family, My heart goes out to you at the loss of your Dad. Cameron, he was so proud of you and talked of you often. Keep making him proud! You're a great son and he knew you were there for him anytime he needed. Watching your daughter share his pie and ice cream in the hospital, with a big grin on his face, was a memory I'll always remember! Joan, I'm so proud of you for all you've done in the past couple weeks! Thank you from the bottom of my nurses heart for being with Allan in hospice. I never knew Allan before he became my client but he grabbed a piece of my heart in that short time. He loved his grandsons so much and I know you will continue to keep his memory alive for and in them. Bless you

I met Al here in Eaglesham through Wavey and Ryan. He was a lot of fun and a very nice, caring man. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and talked about them often. He also loved my dog and invited us out to his place so Hershey could run the fields!! I will miss his friendship. Rest in Peace Al!!
