Obituary For Allan Richard Johnston
Allan Johnston, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the University of Alberta Hospital at the age of 78 years.
Allan was born on March 1, 1941 in Calgary, AB, where he was also raised. After graduating high school, he went into the Canadian Airforce, and later became a police officer with the Calgary Police Service.
He had a love for woodworking.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 18 years Carol; his children: Katherine Johnston (Ron) and Carl (Shannon) Johnston; step-children: David (Priscilla) Brown, Robert Brown, Dawn (Sheldon) Evaskevich, and Rick (Trina) Wright; grandchildren: Brendan, Anthony and Shayla; step-grandchildren: Steven, Torin, Nathan, Madison, Adam, Kennedy and Brooklyn; sister Mary (Aubrey) Finnan, nephew Matt, and niece Laura.
He was predeceased by his parents Phyllis and Richard, as well as his first wife Phyllis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave).
