Obituary For Allen Wayne Sands
Allen “Sonny” Sands, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Spirit River, AB, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 74 years.
Sonny was born on September 15, 1946, in Spirit River. Sonny was a Heavy Duty Mechanic and later worked as a Truck Driver until he retired. He was a NASCAR and hockey fan.
Sonny will be sadly missed by his partner Brenda Swan; children: Yvonne (Marc) Nyrose, Annette Sands, James (Kerri) Sands, and Robert (Marlene) Sands; grandchildren: Tyler, Kristen, Danica, Falon, Tamsin, Diesel, and Rose; sisters: Marilyn (Nelius) Haugland, Brenda (Dennis) Rude, Karen (Brian) Boyd; former spouse Nevelda Sands; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sonny was predeceased by his parents Art and Lenice Sands; brothers Jim and Bobby; as well as two nieces and one nephew.
As per Sonny’s request, there will be no Funeral Service.
The family sends much appreciation to Dr. Bartie and the staff of 3 North for their excellent care.
Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
