Obituary For Allison Watson

Allison “Allie” Layne Watson, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the age of 57 years.

Allie was born June 22, 1960 in Grande Prairie. He attended Grande Prairie Composite High School and went on to become a Journeyman Partsman before moving on to work as a contract labourer at the Weyerhaeuser Mill for the past 28 years.

He enjoyed camping, socializing, and, in younger days, he owned sled dogs. Working with his hands brought him great satisfaction, from building model airplanes to completing a cabin.

Allie will be sadly missed by his son Justin; daughter Rachel; granddaughter Breya; brothers: Callen (Donna), Darrell (Sheila), and Shaun Watson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Anne Watson.

A Service Celebrating Allie’s Life will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). A Viewing will be held prior at 10am. In honor of Allie’s love of his jeans and denim shirts, please feel free to attend the service in jeans.

At the family’s request, those wishing to make a memorial donation may do so to the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (200, Nordic Court, 10014 99 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 3N4).
