Obituary For Alphonse Julien Doucet

Alphonse Julien Doucet, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Eaglesham, AB, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Points West Hospice, at the age of 84 years.

Alphonse was born November 27, 1933 to Edward and Ozene Doucet. He was second born of 6 children and was the oldest son. He met his wife of 62 years in 1955 and after a short engagement, they married. They remained in the Tangent area where they farmed and raised their family.

Alphonse was a good neighbor and friend to many. He had a soft spot for his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his one great great-grandchild.

He loved horseback riding and nature. He was still riding at 80 years of age.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Rita Doucet; children: Edward (Rejeanne) Doucet, Vivian Brulotte, Bibiane (Leon) Drouin, and Alexzander (Diane) Doucet; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.

Alphonse was predeceased by his parents Edward and Ozene Doucet; sons Andrè Doucet, and Rozaire Doucet; and sister Rhea Black.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 5:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.)

Memorial donations may be made to Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society (Box 21215, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6W7).

Then my girls were always welcome to your home during the special summers horseback riding on th farm . They always remember him, and send there love.
