Al Peebles passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at the age of 85 years.

He was born and raised in Heart Valley and married Helen in 1951. He farmed and worked for the Department of Highways until moving to Grande Prairie in 1966. He worked for a number of years in auto parts and in his spare time enjoyed playing golf, crib, gardening, and coffee at the mall.

He is survived by his wife Helen; son Brian (Yvonne) Peebles of Red Deer; daughters: Rita (Joe) Gara of Celista, BC, Janet Belcourt (Gary) of Edson and Terry Cadieux (Roy Berg) of Grande Prairie; sister Ruth (Art) Gronvall of Grande Prairie; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed by those who loved and knew him.

He was predeceased by his son Kevin in 2013, his parents, 3 brothers and 1 grandson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
