Obituary For Angie Waldner
Angie Waldner, resident of Bezanson passed away peacefully with family at her side, on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Grande Prairie Care Centre. She was 88 years old.
Angie was born August 27, 1928 in Grande Prairie to Alfred and Inga (Bredeson) Olson. She was the fourth of 7 children. They were raised in Bezanson. Angie received her education at Somme School at Glen Leslie, getting to school on horseback.
Angie married Walter Waldner November 5, 1947. They lived in the Bezanson area and Grande Prairie until 1957 when they moved back to the farm where Angie was raised.
Angie loved to curl, sew, crochet, and dance, all of which she did with a smile. Everyone who knew her loved her grace, compassion, gentle manner, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and her homemade buns.
Angie will be sadly missed by her children: Carol (David) Sorensen and Darrell (Janet) Waldner; grandchildren: Nicole (Wayne) Cote, Scott (Rachelle) Adams, Chelsie (Kurtis) Dillabough and Kyle (Krissi Anonson) Waldner; great-grandchildren: Cody (Jenessa), Shelby, Keegan, Colton, Luke, Elianna, Kade, Mickenzie, Tessa, Raigan, Korbin and Koby; sister Allie Ames; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Angie was predeceased by her husband Walter; parents Alfred and Inga Olson; siblings: Edna (Flohr), Elsie (Ray), Violet (Griffiths), Don Olson and Gordon Olson.
A Celebration of Angie’s Life will be held Friday, October 7, 2016, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Luncheon to follow. Private Interment of Angie’s ashes at a later date in the Glen Leslie Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Angie’s memory to Parkinson Alberta (#103, 10901 - 100 St., Grande Prairie, AB T8V 2M9) or to Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (1502 College Plaza, 8215 112 St., Edmonton, AB, T6G 2C8).
