Obituary For Anna Nielsen Donaldson
Anna Donaldson, resident of Fairview, formerly of Eaglesham, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Harvest Lodge, at the age of 90 years.
Anna was born on April 13, 1926 and was raised in Red Deer. She later went homesteading in the Peace River Country in 1951 with her husband Gordon. They moved to the village of Eaglesham in 1959, where she remained until she moved into the Harvest Lodge in Fairview in 2013.
She was a mother of four children, editor of the local history book “The Smoky Peace Triangle”, author of three books, recipient of the Citizen of the Year award in 1991 and awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for service to her community in 2013.
She will be sadly missed by her children: David (Annie) Donaldson, Donna McKay, Greg Donaldson, and Irma Atkinson; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sisters: Alice and Marjorie.
She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, son Lyle, sisters Stella and Elva.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 2:00pm, at Eaglesham Community Church (4905 51 St, Eaglesham, AB) with a luncheon to follow at Eaglesham Centennial Hall.

So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She had lived an incredible life and has left many great memories for everyone who knew her. She is one of the last North Eaglesham Homesteaders. What a great childhood life we had growing up in Northren Eaglesham. Dorothy Spina and the Grant family.

So sorry to hear of Anne's passing. She was an absolutely amazing woman. I loved cleaning days, when I was finished we would have a coffee and I got to listen to the most amazing stories. Oh the history both Anne and Gordon told was the best.
