Obituary For Anna Szczudlo Shmyruk

It is with sad hearts that we announce the death of Anna Shmyruk, longtime resident of the Rycroft (Volin), AB, area. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the Long Term Care Centre in Fairview, with her family by her side.

She was born in Jaroslaw, Poland, on October 28, 1921, to Stefan and Eva Szczudlo. Her 99 years of goodness has been a blessing to all who knew her, and the legacy she has left is a rich set of memories and values she instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Michail (Rose); son Bob (Orma-Jean); son in-law Bernie Schuett; grandchildren: Sylvia (Blake) Bouzek, Ken (Krista) Schuett, Larry Schuett, Krystal (Scott) Smith, Eugene (Irene) Shmyruk, Tony (Krysten) Shmyruk, Corrine Shmyruk, and Bonnie (Jarrod) Leach; great-grandchildren Brett and Riley Schuett; Emily, Lucas and Cameron Schuett; Cole and Tyler Smith; Kaylee and Marcus Shmyruk; Lukas, Westin and Madisyn Leach; and Andrew and Nicholas Shmyruk; sister in-law Mary Byk and her family; as well as many valued nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Mike; daughter Mary; parents Eva and Stefan Szczudlo; sisters Francis and Katherine; and brothers Nick and Joseph.

A private Funeral service for the immediate family will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Cemetery in the Greenway area. A special round of thanks goes out to the care workers and nurses at the Longterm Care in Fairview, Dr. John Andriuk, Dr. Sally Andriuk, and Dr. Irvine for their tender loving care during her time in Fairview.
