Obituary For Anne Helen Repetowski
Anne Helen Repetowski was born on November 24, 1965, in Grande Prairie, AB, and passed away with her family nearby on Monday, February 10, 2025, after a 2-year battle with cancer.
Anne grew up in Grande Prairie. She was the daughter of Terris Repetowski and Elizabeth Repetowski (nee Luka). Anne attended Harry Balfour Elementary, Avondale Elementary, Montrose Junior High and the Grande Prairie Composite High School. After completing grade twelve, Anne continued her education by moving to Calgary for two years and graduating with a degree in Recreational Therapy.
Anne came from a large family; among her siblings were: Thomas Alexander, Mary Catherine, Elizabeth Rose, Walter Roy, Margaret Ruth, May Susan, James Richard and Jerry Roger. It was a busy home; full of laughter, pranks and noise growing up.
For the past 25 years Anne has worked for the Grande Prairie Council on Aging – Seniors Outreach and Meals on Wheels. She was a hard worker, had a wealth of knowledge, and truly loved helping the seniors who came in, becoming close to many.
Anne had many interests, she was an avid reader, mostly mystery novels, which she usually would read within a couple days. She also enjoyed gardening, there was always a small competition to see who’s grew the biggest vegetables and brightest flowers. Anne learned to knit from her mother, and her hands were rarely still. I don’t think there was a niece, nephew, grand-niece, grand-nephew, or close friends’ baby that didn’t get a handmade blanket from her. Although Anne felt she had no artistic talent, she really enjoyed crafts. Anne was an enthusiastic supporter of the Grande Prairie area; she volunteered for numerous organizations and fundraisers. If anyone needed a hand, Anne would be there and somehow was always able to get others to chip in as well. She loved to travel and was blessed to go on many trips from Mexico, China, Amsterdam, Calgary and beyond. She cared greatly for animals; dogs and horses were her favourite, while chickens were better enjoyed from a distance.
Anne is survived by her brothers and sisters: Mary (Danny) Antonio, Elizabeth Anne Gray, Walter (Laurie) Repetowski, Margaret Repetowski-Rowe, May Susan Platana, James (Chastity) Repetowski, and Jerry (Phanida ‘Tom’) Repetowski; nieces and nephews: Teresa (Steven) Wells, Walter Antonio, Catherine (Dave) Oakes, T.J. Antonio, Luke Gray, Levi (Laura) Gray, Adam Gray, Maya-Rose Gray, Anya-Lily Gray, Jennylee Repetowski, Terry (Samantha) Repetowski, Barry Repetowski, Gerald Rowe, Robin (Bobbi-Jo) Rowe, Austin Repetowski, Jack Repetowski, Alexandria “Alex” (Anthony) Pratt, Anthony Smith, Nathan Platana, and Victoria Platana; great-neices and great-nephews: Caitlin Martin, Mckenzie Lindstrom, Nolan Lindstrom, Juna-Lee Chambers-Gray, Beth Gray, Lance Gray, Rane-Rose Gray, Valley Gray, Finley Repetowski, Kealey Repetowski, Barrett Rowe, Wesson Rowe, Colt Rowe, Bronson Rowe, Jasper Rowe, Charlie Smith, and Havanna Smith; as well as her many dear friends.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, Terris and Elizabeth Repetowski; eldest brother Thomas; and nephew Kane Gray.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 - 107 Ave).
Interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave and 112th St).

My sincere condolences to all of Anne's family and friends. Anne and I worked together many years ago. She clearly had a love and a gift for working with and for the seniors. She touched a lot of lives and was always there to help. Her biggest love however was her family and I remember how much she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She seemed to always be planning something for them or spoiling them in some fashion. She had the biggest heart and never wanted anyone to worry about her. May she rest in peace.

Remember Anne with great fondness, worked under her direction at pioneer Lodge gr. Pr. Back in the 1990s. I always found her very kind and fair to all the employees. So very sad to hear of her tragic death at such a young age. Rest in peace, Anne.

What an awesome person she was. She was such a blessing for my Mom when my Dad passed away. Everything was a mess and Anne was the ONLY person who could politely tell my poor Mom to stop talking that she could fix everything. Mom absolutely loved her. Prayers for ALL the family
