Annie Potrebenko (nee Milkovich) passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Spirit River, AB, at age 88.

Annie was born January 26, 1936, to Ivan and Manda Milkovich, at the family’s homestead south of Rycroft, AB. In 1957, Annie married Walter Potrebenko, who predeceased her in 2000. Walter was a foreman working for the railroad, where they lived in a track house when their son Wayne was born in 1958. Later, they moved to their farm in Silverwood, where they lived their entire lives. Annie loved living on the farm: gardening, mowing her lawn, and cooking. Annie’s greatest joy was her grandchildren: Benjamin and Carl, born in 2000.

Annie is survived by her son Wayne (Karen) Potrebenko; grandsons: Benjamin and Carl; brother: Billy Milkovich; and sisters: Helen (Lyle) Boman and Matilda Milkovich.

Annie was predeceased by her husband Walter; brothers: Nick (Anne), John, Louis, Joe, and Matt; sisters: Katie (Nick) Hawrylenko, and Mary (Alex) Potrebenko; and sister-in-law Irene Milkovich.

As per Annie’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral.
