She enjoyed watching sports on the television, especially hockey and curling. She was an avid seamstress and made a lot of her children's clothing and her granddaughter's dance costumes. She was a caring person who opened her home to many people, including family members and foster children. She enjoyed doing puzzles and winning at cribbage.

Annette will be sadly missed by her children: David (Sharon) deMetz, Gordon deMetz, and Catherine deMetz (David Schmitke); grandchildren: Derrick, Reilly, and Jolene deMetz, Amanda Spofford (Brandon), Tymm, Adrienne and Simon Schmitke, Kaity, Sean, and Ian deMetz; great-grandchildren: Owen deMetz-Johnson, Maverick Andrew, Lena and Aubree Spofford; as well as several nieces and nephews.

It is with sadness that I see Annette's obituary. Annette and Howard had been my neighbours since 1997. After Howard died, Annette would walk to my house and have tea several times a week. Annette will be missed and thought of kindly.
