Obituary For Aubrey Ronelle Warkentin Balisky
Aubrey Ronelle Warkentin Balisky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 1, 2021, at the age of 37 years.
Aubrey was born on May 11, 1983, in Grande Prairie, AB. She grew up on the Goodwin Road, on the farm with her parents Don and Gayleen Warkentin.
The eldest of 3 girls followed by 2 boys, Aubrey was always ever old for her age. She lived as if she knew her life would be cut short. Naturally, she graduated at 16 and, after one year of attending Bible school at PRBI, she was married at 18 to Wade Balisky. She moved only one range road over, to the neighbouring farm.
Aubrey accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour at a young age, and her faith drove her all her life, and driven she was! Her fierce determination and strong sense of purpose moved mountains. Rising to every challenge, she had 5 beautiful children, and she poured herself into raising up each one.
Her love for reading at a young age propelled her to be an incredible wordsmith and poet, yet her creativity and colour could not be contained by the page. Her ability to see, arrange and capture beauty as a photographer, artist and decorator was absolutely unmatched. Thoughtful, generous, and resolutely unique, Aubrey was ever a trail blazer, thinking and living forever outside the box.
Aubrey loved horses, the outdoors, the farm, especially her family, and above all, the Lord. Her outreach was wide, her impact deep. Her baton will be carried on, her example emulated, her memory cherished, and we look forward to that day when our spirits shall sorrow no more, in the sweet by and by we shall meet her on that beautiful shore.
"Crowned by Your mercy, filled with Your love, full of Your presence, abundant with Your grace, obvious of Your hand, covered by Your love, protected by Your compassion... staggering evidence that You are WITH us. Thank you, our Lord Jesus Christ" ~ Aubrey Balisky.

Don, Gayleen, Raine, Haylee, Hudson & Sawyer, my heart goes out to all of you. I cannot begin to fathom how devastating the loss if Aubrey is. I followed her photography and was always blow away by her skill and ability to capture her subject's personalities and light. Her photos offered a small glimps into her immense love for her family and community, and her amazing talent as a photographer. As I told Haylee, she was always so kind and welcoming to me and I will be forever grateful that I had the opportunity to meet her. Thank you for welcoming me into your lives those summers. I am a better person for having met Aubrey and all of you. My deepest condolences.

I will miss knowing Wade and Aubrey are in the area. Good people. Good neighbours. Good community people. They invested so much in the lives of so many people. Always neighbourly. Always sociable. Wade was an enthusiastic and successful farmer and Aubrey a skilled and creative photographer. Both devoted family people. People of faith committed to honouring their Heavenly Father. Seeking to spread His love to those around them. Iâ??m sorry I wonâ??t see their little girls, Jewel and Fleur, grow and blossom and continue to hold up the light of a loving family and a compassionate God. I ache for Chevy, Remmington and Indya and the difficult journey before them. For them and the rest of your family, the hole left by your loss seems a dark and painful void. To say Iâ??m praying for you seems so meager and small. But with a heavy heart I bare witness to your pain and trust that the God of all comfort will give what you need when you need it.
