Bernadette Ann Hodgson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the age of 59 years.

She is survived by her brothers: Jim (Betty), Bill (Maureen), and Rick (Fran); sister Fern (Tony); as well as numerous nieces and nephews scattered around North America.

She was predeceased by her mother Sophia Hodgson, father Lea Hodgson, and her sister Edna Greber.

Bernie’s life was greatly enhanced by her many caregivers throughout the years, starting with the Peace School of Hope and the care afforded by Signature Support Services in later years. The loving care provided in her home by Effie Berg and her wonderful family over the past many years gave Bernie her best possible life.

A Celebration of Bernie’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke of Alberta (Unit 109, 10126 120 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8H9) or the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (1-020 Li Ka Shing Centre for Health Research Innovation, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2E1).
