Obituary For Bernard Cleary

Bernard Cleary, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Calgary, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the age of 89 years, at QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB.

He was born on April 8, 1928 in Assiniboia, SK.

Bernard worked on the family farm while growing up. At the age of 19, he moved to Ontario, where he worked on boats as part of a crew. Later, he moved back to Saskatchewan to Lac la Ronge to work as a tour guide for a few years, then moved to Calgary, where he owned and operated his own upholstery shop.

He was a fun loving person, who was great at storytelling and ready to tell jokes. He had a very caring attitude, always ready to help others.

Bernard enjoyed fishing, camping and travelling. Above all, he had strong love for his faith and his God, Jehovah.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Susan Lynn Cleary; daughter Tina Lynn Wood; grandchildren: Jordan, Rebecca, and Kaylee; Susan’s siblings: David (Kathy), Elizebeth (Vance), and Laurie (Bill): as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Bill Cleary and mother Clara Pearl Thomson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).

Memorial donations may be made to the World Wide work of Jehovah Witnesses. (P.O. Box 4100, Georgetown, ON L7G 4Y4)

Condolences

Ã? wanted to send your family my condolences on the passing of Bernie. I was Dr. Balouch's nurse (the redhead) in beaverlodge a few years ago and I loved seeing you and Bernie at the clinic. He always had a big smile and his sense of humor would just make my day; he was a very sweet man and I was always happy to see him and feel honored to have met him. Sending you all hugs. Take care, Kelsey
