Obituary For Betty Dzaman Rautenstrauch

Lena Enid Elizabeth “Betty” Rautenstrauch

Betty was born December 25, 1933 in High Prairie and was raised in Wembley. She married the love of her life, Wolfgang, on August 4, 1954 and left this earth to join her husband on Friday, September 9, 2016, at the age of 82 years.

Betty and Wolf raised 2 sons Darcy and Larry in Wembley before relocating to Grande Prairie in 1972, where Betty was employed by AGT and later Telus.

Betty is survived by her sons and daughters in-law Darcy and Diane, Larry and Pat; grandsons: Craig Rautenstrauch (Alissa), Dylan and Rhonda Rautenstrauch, Dain Rautenstrauch (Miranda); granddaughters: Becky (Justin) Evarts, Heather (Trent) Hilhorst, Trudy Rigler, Tanya (Kevin) Saare; great-grandchildren: Charlie and Austin Evarts, Kailey and Oliver Saare, Molly Rautenstrauch, and Claire Hilhorst; sister Margaret (Dennis) Westad; sister in-law Christa (Gordon) Hommy; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Wolfgang, parents Nick and Kathleen, brother Bud, sisters Eileen (George) Patterson, Doreen (Cliff) Purves, and sister in-law Eva (Jack) Heikel.

A Viewing will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 7:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home. The interment will take place at Lake Saskatoon Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

    so very sorry to hear of Betty,s passing. Grandma Betty will be remembered lovingly by many. I enjoyed always getting to visit with her every year at Stompede. Such a wonderful lady .
