Obituary For Betty Louise Knourek Lindroos

Betty Louise Lindroos, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 92 years.

Betty was born June 21, 1928 in the Stockholm District of Saskatchewan. While working at Charles Camsell Hospital, she met Fred Lindroos who was working at Calgary Power. They were married and shortly after, moved to Grande Prairie.

Betty sold Avon for quite a few years. She was an impressive seamstress who made a number of wedding dresses and figure skating costumes over the years. Bread was never purchased; homemade buns and loaves were common in the house. Betty was also an accomplished bowler and there were many trophies around the house to prove it.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Doug, Laurie, and Glenn; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and former daughter in-law Anke.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Fred Lindroos, daughter Pamela Lindroos, twin brother Victor Knourek, and parents Joseph and Effie Knourek.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 2:00pm, at Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave. & 112th St.).

Doug, Laurie and Glenn, Betty was a wonderful, caring and kind person. She was part of our lives ... as we grew up! The time she and Mom would bake their famous Swedish rings for the church bake sales to the birthday parties at the dunes... she was always there .. helping. She was such a great representative for Avon... their sales must have shot up because of Her. Our emotions are heavy with the sad news of her passing... but she will always be remembered in our hearts. Condolences you all of you... Joan ( Pardell) Stuart, and Brent Stuart
