Obituary For Brandon Victor Luke Zacharias

Brandon Victor Luke Zacharias, beloved son, brother and friend, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Monday, September 23, 2019, at the age of 37 years, in Grande Prairie, AB.

This beautiful, young man was born in Vancouver, BC on November 14, 1981. He and his siblings grew up in Richmond, BC where his love of music and basketball began to flourish. In Valleyview, AB he created a rock band called "Awakening". Soon after, he attended college at PRBI where he further developed his passion for basketball. In Grande Prairie, AB he unified and developed numerous basketball teams. It was important for him to reach out to those without the opportunity to play and push and motivate any friend or stranger during their times of hardship. His skill with the guitar and his gift of song never waivered.

During his time here, Brandon was spirited, loving, generous and once he had a goal in mind, his words formed into actions to achieve it. He possessed the great gift of eliciting laughter, especially during times when you knew you weren’t supposed to. Brandon Victor was a fierce friend and had a heart of sensitivity and hope. He was an artist, athlete and dreamer.

Brandon Zacharias will be missed by his father and mother Bryan and Judy; his siblings: Rachel, Austin-Judah and Yaysha; his niece and nephews, the children of Rachel: Leilah, Titus and Attila; his Zacharias uncles and aunts: Mark (Pat), Scott (Ramona) and their children, Daniel (Alician), Hannah (Fred), Charity (Quinn) and their children, Miriam (Michael LeRoux), Timothy, and Harmony; and numerous relatives. Amongst the Buenafes, on Judy’s side of the family: Brandon’s many aunties and uncle: Rita, Jane, Susan, Gloria (in heaven), David, (Judy his mother), Jeannie, Alice, Elly, Julie, Margaret and Ruth; and their mates, and many cousins. Brandon will be missed deeply as well by his many friends.

We love you Brandon, we will be united once again in Jesus name!!

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 1:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

Brandon had the heart, soul, loyalty alike no other. He was so talented at basketball, everything he did was with passion and dedication. He always put his friends and family first, he gave to others without expectation, and would not back down from anything. Brandon inspired and helped many. His word was golden. Forever in our hearts and mind, a legend that could not ever be forgotten. Rest easy my friend, until we meet again.
