Passed away after a brave battle with cancer on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Sylvia for 39 years. Bruce was born in Montreal on April 11, 1948. He met and married Sylvia in Montreal on June 25, 1983. Over the years they moved around to be closer to family. At many of the places they lived they were the landlords of the buildings. Bruce was a custodian by trade and spent many years with the US Embassy in Ottawa until his retirement in 2014. They then moved closer to Niagara Falls to be closer to his brother Brian and spent his final years in Kitchener to be closer to his brother Herman’s family. Family was always so important to Bruce. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his step-son Richard Thompson, grandson Nicholas Thompson (his mother Soula Papoulias), siblings Graham (Connie) Thompson, Linda (Laddie) Fisher and Brian (Dianne) Thompson, sisters-in law Mildred and Jean Thompson and Marlene and Jeannie Frainetti, brothers-in-law Andre Charbonneau and Gus Tavularis, nieces and nephews Gregg Thompson, Harry Thompson (the late Karen), Alice Stahlbaum (Larry), Cindy Bordeleau (Louis), Ivan Thompson, Gayle Botelho (John), Mandy Thompson (Robert Brault), Dean Fisher (Lisa), David Thompson (Sarah), Tracy McFee (Craig), Timmy Thompson (Melanie), Andrew Thompson (Kelly), Jason Potvin (PJ), Darren Potvin (Monty), Richard Charbonneau (Liz), Mike Charbonneau (Ming) and Dina Tavularis. He will also be missed by his great-nieces and nephews, Larry (Heather) Stahlbaum, Leanne (Rob) Fagan, Brian Stahlbaum, Brittany (Eric) Swidrovich, Veronica (Jameson) Pickard, Ally Botelho (Nico Pasquale), Jadelyn Brault, Ryan Bordeleau (Jerome), Christian Bordeleau, Sara Bordeleau, Kyle, Jacob and Megan Fisher, Carter and Jaxon Thompson, Addie Potvin, Alex and Daniel Charbonneau, Melanie Charbonneau and Taylor Carrangelo and great-great nieces and nephews Mason Stahlbaum, Kendall, Cooper, Madison and Emily Fagan, Spencer, Evelyn and Violet Swidrovich and Benjamin Pickard.

As per Bruce’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place in Montreal at a later date.
