Obituary For Calvin Church

It is with heavy hearts that we say our goodbyes to Calvin Church of Grande Prairie, AB who passed away at home on Friday, May 4, 2018, at the age of 56 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Calvin was born in Stettler, AB on October 16, 1961. He moved to Red Deer when he was 10 years old and then he relocated to Grande Prairie with his family in 1993.

His passion was spending time with his family and friends camping, quadding, sledding and being in the outdoors. He took pride in their beautiful home where the grass was always cut just perfectly. Calvin put his whole heart and time into everything. His work ethic, family values and love of adventure will ensure that the legend of Calvin Church lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Calvin will be deeply missed by Sheri, his bride of 37 years and the love of his life. He was a hero and mentor to his 3 daughters and their spouses: Jennifer (Marco), Roxanne (Scott) and Braylee (Justin). One of his greatest joys was to spend time with his grandchildren: Shae, Brett, Blair and Alex. Calvin is also leaving behind his mom Patricia, sister Sheila (Darin), and brother Brad (Mary). He will never be forgotten by his “Man’s best friends”, Doc and Kash.

He was predeceased by his dad Harvey.

The family of Calvin Church would like to invite you to a celebration of his life to be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 1:00pm, at The Army and Navy Airforce Veteran’s Club in Grande Prairie (10117 93 St.).

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Calvin to STARS Air Ambulance (10911 123 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7Z3).
