Obituary For Cara Marie Mazurek-Kucheruk
Cara Marie Kucheruk Mazurek, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of High Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in her home, at the age of 41 years.
Cara was born October 21, 1982, in Edmonton, AB, and raised along with her sisters (Melissa and Sam) in High Prairie. After graduating from High School, she moved to Vancouver, BC to be with her oldest sister (Terra) then eventually relocated to Grande Prairie. She then attended GPRC for the Nursing program and graduated in 2008. Later in her career she started her very own medical company (CaraMed). Cara had a love for sports which began in her childhood with Ukrainian dancing, volleyball, badminton, and track.
Cara was blessed to become a mother to Casey Tagan Marie Fjeld in 2003. Casey was Cara’s whole world and they spent most of their days together watching their favorite shows, shopping, dancing in the kitchen while cooking, and going on drives to listen to music. She later brought into the world her first son Carter Jordan Luce in 2012. A few years later, Jackson Davis Luce was born in 2015. Cara loved every minute spent with her two boys. Carter and Jackson shared their mom's love for hockey. They made many memories watching movies, having special meals together, playing games, eating treats, singing and dancing in the car, and going to the river every summer. Even up to her last day, her children were the center of her world.
Cara had a big personality. Some would even say she was the life of the party. When Cara entered a room, you could always count on her to make you laugh with her humor and intense sarcasm. She was very outgoing and outspoken, you never had to worry about how she was feeling, because she would just tell you. Cara had a strong sense of community and would do anything for the people she loved. Her strength was something everyone admired, and she never gave up. Her friends and family were everything to her.
She will be greatly missed by her three children: Casey, Carter, and Jackson; three sisters: Melissa, Sam, and Terra; mother Kim; and father Terry. Cara had many aunts, uncles, cousins, best friends Arielle and Ginelle, as well as numerous other friends. She was loved by so many, and her absence will be deeply felt.
She was predeceased by maternal grandparents Rose and Walter Kucheruk, and paternal grandparents Vicky and Walter Mazurek.
The family of Cara would like to thank everyone who supported and loved her.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave). Lunch to follow.
Memorial donations for Cara’s children, Casey, Carter, and Jackson, may be sent to carasmemorialdonations@gmail.com via e-transfer. Cara wanted these funds to support her children in a time of loss and grief and to improve their future life.
