Obituary For Carol Ann Blais
Carol Ann Blais, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018, at Prairie Lakes Community Hospice in Grande Prairie after a long, courageous battle with cancer, at 59 years of age.
Carol was born in Edmonton on September 15, 1959 and was welcomed into the loving home of Oscar and Emila Blais a short time later. Carol was very bright and excelled in school and in sports, especially swimming and piano. She grew up in Grande Prairie, had a son Jamie; and moved around Alberta trying to make a better life for them. She finally settled in Campbell River, BC for many years until relocating back to Grande Prairie about 10 years ago to care for her mom Emila, whom she was very devoted to.
Carol was fiercely independent, had a strong mind and opinions and a kind heart. She was very sentimental and collected articles of interest: news clipping and other memorabilia, saving them for family and friends.
Carol will be sadly missed by her mother Emila; son Jamie; granddaughters Katelyn and Brianne and their mother Jeanette; brothers Mark (Lily) and Ron (Bonnie); her Auntie Mary, Uncle Terry, Uncle Roy, and good friend Doreen; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her father Oscar, Uncle Joe, Aunts Dorothy and Elizabeth, and all her Dad's siblings on the Blais side - except for Uncle Roy.
A Private Family Memorial will be held.
Memorial Donations may be made to Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society (Box 21215, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6W7).

Was sad to read of your passing Carol. I was so glad I was able to track you down and have a conversation before this happened. You were a good friend and we had some really fun times together when I lived in GP. RIP my friend.

My condolences on Carols passing. I remember Carol well, she was very spirited and Iâ??m sure she and I did some stuff we shouldnâ??t have done way back when in the 70â??s era. I have lost both my brothers to cancer, it is a horrible disease. I can only hope that she did not suffer more than she had to. Hugs to all.
