Obituary For Cathlene Amy Eyres Pratt

Cathlene Amy Pratt, also known as Katie or Kay, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at home in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 98 years.

She was born on August 8, 1922, to Marie and Reginald Eyres in Dodsland, SK.

Cathlene was a proud veteran of WWII. She married Howard Pratt and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed nature, camping, wrestling and spending time with her family. She had strong religious faith and read the bible daily, taking comfort in holding it when she could no longer read the tiny print. In the last months of her life, she talked about looking forward to “going home” and at one point adding, “Howard says time’s a-wasting, and to get a move on.” She also told us she was happy.

Cathlene will be lovingly missed by her sister Phyllis Lossing; daughter Ada Tabensky (Glenn); step-children: Murial Skwarok, Lyle (Lucy), and Dale (Cindy); daughter in-law Mary; grandchildren: Chris (Crystal) Lawrence, Tasha Keebler, Angey Lawrence, Kitt Buchanon, Tanaura (Mark) Seon, Stephanie (Morgan) Laidler, Gerry (Marissa) Pratt, Brian (Esther) Pratt, and Allyson Pratt; friends: Sylvia Gula, and Gord Pankratz; many great-grandchildren, especially the two oldest: Elias Gairdner and Ajay Lawrence; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cathlene was predeceased by her husband Howard; sisters Mable (Harold) Mack and Doris (Gordie) Neil; brother in-law Earl Lossing; son Ken Phethean; daughter Eileen (Lee) Pratt; stepsons Daryl Pratt and Arleigh Pratt; grandson Wesley Skwarok also known as William Summer; and nephews Michael Neil and Vick Mack.

Memorial donations may be made to Save the Children Canada (https://www.savethechildren.ca).
